Sunny Leone in Splitsvilla 7

Looks like Sunny Leone is on a roll ever since her success in Raginni MMS 2. But what is interesting is that the adult film actress-turned-Bollywood-heroine has surprisingly decided to return to the small screen as the host of a popular reality show. She was last seen on the small screen in Bigg Boss 5 as a contestant. She will follow the footsteps of Sherlyn Chopra in the upcoming (seventh) season of MTV Splitsvilla. The show is expected to go on floors by the end of this year. Since the last six months, Sunny has been in talks for this show and the deal was finalized only last week. However according to sources, she is yet to allot her dates for the show as she is also juggling a few film offers and is required to give ample time at length for the shoot of this show. The show's production team is currently hunting for the location of the shoot. The show is the Indian adaptation of the American format, Flavor of Love.

The curious case of Sunny Leone

After Katrina Kaif and Salman Khan, she is the most searched celebrity on the Internet. Though she’s a household name, her name is taken in whispers. Her films and item numbers sound an alarm bell for the Censor Board and celebration for the viewers. If Jism 2 was not enough, Sunny Leone set the mercury rising with Ragini MMS 2. Such is her popularity that our mails and social networking sites were flooded with questions when the word got out that she was being interviewed. So Filmfare decided to get your questions answered. You ask, she answers…

Given your bold past do filmmakers seek your consent for bold scenes ?
Siddiqui, Mumbai

Yes, I do read the script. If the script demands bold scenes, then I do them. Jism 2 and Ragini MMS 2 required intimate sequences. No director has asked me to romance my co-star on the spot.

Aren’t you wary of being objectified?
Parul Sachdev, Hyderabad

Even actors are objectified. We are products. But what we do as actors is not something real, it’s fictional. The whole notion of being objectified is blown out of proportion.

Initially, you found it difficult to procure a house in Mumbai because people had a problem with your past. Is that true?
Sahil Bhatia, Bengaluru

That’s a complete lie. No one had an issue with me. The real story is that my father-in-law had to undergo a bypass surgery. So my husband Daniel (Weber) and I immediately flew to California. We put our house hunt on pause because family comes first. This made people presume that there was an issue with my profession, which was false.

Do you think doing Jackpot was a mistake?
Reena Singh, Kolkata

Jackpot was a mistake. The film bombed. The script was brilliant when I read it. But as actors we can’t take charge of everything.
I can’t pinpoint mistakes.

If you had a daughter and she wants to be an adult film actor as well?
Deepak Saigal, Delhi

I’d be completely lying if I said I wouldn’t be shocked. I’d like her to be educated first. But who am I to stop her? I can’t be a hypocrite. I won’t be happy though. Daniel might even get a heart attack.

Would you endorse a fairness product?
Samir Mendpara, Gujarat

I don’t believe in a fairness products because in California people want to get darker and darker. They spend so much time getting tanned. It’s surprising to see people using fairness creams in India.

A lot was spoken about your lesbian scene in Ragini MMS 2, but it was a mere kiss?
Vinod Jain, Agra

The kiss was blown out of proportion. To sum it up in one line, the lesbian kiss wasn’t something crazy for me.

Is it difficult to resist temptation in the glam world?
Swati Chopra, Punjab

I believe in monogamy. And my husband is the hottest man I know. I have a crush on him and I get to wake up next to him every morning. I’ll never find someone as attractive as Daniel.

Farah Khan said that she would have a gay encounter with you at gun-point on Koffee With Karan. Your take?
Delzeen Irani, Mumbai

I take it as a compliment. It’s great that I’m on top of her list when she thinks of a gay encounter. Usually, I feel shy when girls hit on me, though it doesn’t sound normal coming from me!

Sunny Leone gets emerald-diamond necklace on birthday

Indo-Canadian adult film actress Sunny Leone turned 33 Tuesday with a quiet night with her husband Daniel Weber, who gifted her a diamond and emerald necklace.

"I was tucked into bed by 10 p.m. That's how I brought in my birthday. Boring? What to do? I landed a night before from Los Angeles and was heavily jet-lagged. I shot the whole day on the day before my birthday and then crashed out."
"At midnight, someone was knocking on the door with a huge bouquet of flowers from a friend. So that was nice. Then I woke up to a relaxed session of working-out, after which I left for shooting again. It's an ideal way to spend a special day," said Sunny, whose recent release "Ragini MMS 2" did well at the box office.
Sunny recalls her childhood birthdays when her mother would bake her a cake.
"For one of my birthdays, she baked me a Barbie cake. That's every girl's dream. I remember my 13th birthday. All my school friends came for a party. I got a tape of music of my favourite music bands and other fun gifts. I had the most loving parents who showered me with love on my birthday. I missed them the most on my birthday. I think of them everyday," she said.
She considers her husband to be the best gift of her life.
"And he brings me the gifts that I like. He gifted me a diamond and emerald necklace this birthday which he got specially designed for me. I feel blessed to have a husband who heaps me with gifts," said Sunny, who has been in a relationship with Weber for six years.
Married for three years, she says their love "hasn't diminished".
"How have we made it last so long? Beyond being my husband and lover, he is my best friend. We've seen the best of times and the worst of times together. I can consult him about anything, any problem. He is always there for me. I can lean on him for anything, no matter how silly," said Sunny, who met her husband in Las Vegas.
"He was based in New York. I didn't think at that time that anything would come of our relationship because we lived in different cities. But Daniel doesn't give up easily. He bombarded me with flowers, chocolates and gifts all over the world wherever I happened to be. He would fly in from anywhere in the world to meet me," she said.
"I just want a happy home with my husband. I am not a party girl. I don't have too many friends. I spend all my time in the studios and then I am home. That's why I went to sleep at 10 p.m. on the eve of my birthday," she added.

Sunny Side Up: Bollywood Baby Doll Turns 33

When Sunny Leone got her ticket to Bollywood, her arrival was viewed with interest and apprehension in equal parts. What would this star of X-rated movies and a film industry not long graduated from substituting flowers for people in kissing scenes make of each other? Two years later, Sunny's resume is slim but there's no denying that she's a legit actress.
Here's a pictorial look at her journey as she turns 33.

Sunny Leone, real name Karenjit Kaur Vohra, was born in Ontario, Canada on May 13, 1981. She apparently chose the name "Sunny Leone" because "Sunny" was her favorite nickname and "Leone" was suggested to her by Bob Guccione, the publisher of Penthouse.

Sunny Leone's family migrated to USA when she was 15 years old and settled in Orange County, California. Though she was granted American citizenship in 2006, Sunny continues to keep her Canadian citizenship.

She graduated from high school in 1999 and enrolled in a college in Orange County to train as a pediatric nurse

Sunny Leone is married to Daniel Weber who is also her business partner. The couple reportedly met at a party in 2008 and married on January 20, 2009.

Sunny Leone started her adult entertainment career with Penthouse magazine in 2001. She was the March 2001 Penthouse Pet of the Month and the 2003 Penthouse Pet of the Year. In 2003, she signed a three year contract with Vivid Entertainment which kickstarted her career in hardcore adult films. Her first movie was titled Sunny and was released in December 2005.
Sunny Leone began going mainstream with her stint as a red carpet reporter at the MTV India awards in 2005. She also did a cameo in the film The Girl Next Door, besides appearing in in Ja Rule's video Livin' It Up and a video for Kidd Skilly.
She was also a contestant in the second season of the Fox reality show My Bare Lady 2: Open for Business. In 2007, she filmed a scene for Debbie Does Dallas and was also part of a Showtime documentary of the same name.Sunny has also acted in the Hollywood movies The Virginity HitPirate's Blood and Deadly Stingers.
Sunny Leone shot to fame in India after her appearance on the 2011 Indian reality TV show Bigg Boss. Her stay in the Bigg Boss house brought her to filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt's attention and he offered her a starring role in Jism 2.
Jism 2, Sunny's debut Hindi movie, was directed by Pooja Bhatt and co-starred Randeep Hooda. The movie may not have created fireworks at the box-office but Sunny's performance was hailed by critics as unexpectedly good.
Sunny's next celluloid outing was the hugely popular item number Laila in Sanjay Gupta's Shootout At Wadala which released in 2013.
This year, Sunny was first seen in Kaizad Gustad's Jackpot which turned out to be a damp squib at the box office. She next featured in Ekta Kapoor's much-awaited Ragini MMS 2. The movie was declared a hit and Sunny received good reviews for her performance. The song Baby Doll from the film was a chartbuster.
Besides films, Sunny Leone also signed a few endorsement deals. Among others, she is the brand ambassador of an energy drink.
Sunny loves dogs. She has two of her own and has campaigned for PETA in India.
Sunny has also featured on many magazine covers such as FHM, Front and Jane magazine.
Sunny Leone will next be seen in Mastizaade, which she hopes will be her biggest film till date. The film will go on floors this August. She will also co-host the seventh season of dating-based reality TV show MTV Splitsvilla with VJ Nikhil Chinapa.
We wish Sunny a very happy birthday and a great year ahead.
